About Gillian

Gillian completed her undergraduate and master’s degrees at Curtin University. She has over 25 years of experience working across a range of not-for-profit and government sectors in Perth and London. She has worked with organisations like Holyoake, Centrecare, ChildLine London, Harrow Drug and Alcohol Centre, Curtin University, Notre Dame University, Open Arms Veterans & Families Counselling, and Hollywood Clinic. Currently, she works Mondays to Thursdays in her Como room with adults on a wide range of issues. She is also a St John Ambulance well-being and support provider for St John employees and their families.

Gillian believes everyone has unique needs in counselling, whether they want to create positive life changes, increase self-awareness, address past or current stressors, or build more resilience and self-compassion.

In her private practice, she provides a confidential and comfortable space to work together to achieve her client’s goals. She specialises in a range of therapies but has a particular interest in Schema Therapy, which is a client-centred therapy that draws on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and other empathetic and action-oriented therapies. These therapies address underlying issues behind stress, trauma, depression, and anxiety symptoms. She incorporates body-centred approaches such as mindfulness, Exposure Response Prevention Therapy (ERPT), imagery (Schema Therapy), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR and EMDR 2.0) as appropriate. Gillian also has a keen interest in neuroscience, nutrition, and exercise in relation to mental health.

She enjoys and is dedicated to continuous professional development and reflective practice, which offers her clients the most recent evidence-based psychological interventions.

About Mez

Affectionately referred to as ‘Mez’, Mary-Anne Bradbury has completed her Masters in Professional Psychology, and as such is a Registered Psychologist and Independent Consultant to our Practice. Mez consistently reflects that her goal as a therapist is to instil hope, alongside the benefits found in evidence based science. Her ability to listen and distill the salient points alongside an area of need, to create insight and awareness motivates her pursuit of clinical practice. In her career thus far, Mez has enjoyed working with middle age to older adults; yet we know that she ‘vibes’ with teens and young adults also! Working at our clinic across the lifespan, those with depression and anxiety also report benefit from her focus on identity formation. Mez is known to value being a life long learner, and her research focus included a mentalizing-based treatment modality in a mediation setting. Mez also reports a special focus on the benefits of mindfulness and meditation as she endeavours to create change according to ones goals. Those who have worked closely with Mez also report that she seems to be the ear when no one else is listening, that she is authentic, and a knowledgeable clinician.
